    Hello Sheologians!

I am not intentionally trying to be a hater, but I was disheartened with the phrase “grow up” being told to adults who play video games. It’s kind of harsh? If you think I am being a baby about it that’s okay. I encourage you to watch the Ted Talk by Jane McGonigal: The game that can give you 10 extra years of life. My husband and I have been married for two and a half years and we both play video games (together and separately). We both have full time jobs, live in our own apartment and are completely debt free. I think it is unfair to assume that an adult who plays video games (male or female) is immature and “needs to grow up”. In fact, I think it it narrow minded. Don’t you ladies have hobbies that you enjoy? Reading, watching movies, taking walks, etc. fit into a leisure category. Consider doing more research on this topic before you put someone in a box. I know it was your dad that said it and it makes sense because he’s older but still. Like I said, not trying to be a hater. I definitely don’t agree with a lot of the stuff you guys say BUT I do think you bring interesting ideas to the table! Cheers.

The statement was not, “Every single adult that touches a video game needs to grow up.” The context of the conversation was surrounding men who waste their lives playing video games. If that is not true of you, then the statement doesn’t apply to you. 🙂

Yeah, but when one does not quantify one’s statement, it will interpreted to mean ALL. It’s kind of like saying “Democrats hate God” or perhaps “Republicans hate women”. Of course I did not say ALL Democrats or ALL Republicans. It is very unprofessional to hide behind the old “I didn’t say ALL” .

Context defines statements. Your assertion is false. No one is hiding.

That was great I appreciate both you two ladies and the your dad. Being a guy I did feel slightly wired listening when I first started. But know I I thoroughly enjoy this show. Plus you two are hilarious and biblicaly sound. Hopefully I can get my wife to listen and enjoy you as well. God bless

P.S. Thank you for introducing me to Citizens and Saints. Nice Change of pace from Sho Baraka (which I think I heard played on an episode)….nice

A friend recommended your podcast, so I’ve started listening and am enjoying it so far – I think you two bring up very interesting and valid points. However, I have to let you know that the music that you are playing while you’re talking is very annoying and very distracting. It’s hard to pay attention to what you are saying with the music playing. I hope that you have since ceased this, but in case you haven’t would you please consider stop playing the background music. I’m not sure I can continue to listen to your podcast, and I really do want to hear what you have to say, I just can’t hear it with the music. Thank you.
